How much do online sales closer jobs pay?
Closing pay is set less by years served than by the price point you have closed at. A closer with a record on $500 to $2,000 service offers is priced differently from one who has held $10,000 coaching or software deals, because the objections, the buying committee, and the follow-up discipline are not the same job. At entry you take pre-booked calls on a proven script with your recordings reviewed weekly. Higher up you carry your own follow-up pipeline, work multi-call cycles, and are trusted to walk away from a bad fit rather than force it. The base span runs roughly $7 to $24 an hour, with commission on closed revenue sitting on top, commonly 5 to 10 percent on mid-ticket service deals and 3 to 5 percent on higher-value contracts. Your employer pays you directly in USD, and FindTalent takes no cut of the base or the commission.

Skills employers look for in sales closers
- Making the prospect say it out loud: The hiring roleplay is a full discovery call, and the mistake that loses it is presenting too early. Prepare questions that get past the surface: what they have already tried, what the problem costs them each month, what happens if nothing changes. Then reflect it back in their own words. Employers listen for whether the prospect says the problem out loud.
- Framing the offer against real pain: After discovery you get roughly five minutes to connect the offer to exactly what you were told. Practice presenting one product three different ways for three different pains. A generic feature walkthrough reads as untrained. Ask the employer for a short product brief before your interview and build the link yourself; very few applicants bother.
- The stall at the end of the call: Three late stalls decide the call: "I need to talk to my partner", "let me think about it", and "can you do better on that number". Write a weak and a strong version of each and hear the difference. Weak: "Sure, take your time, I will check back Friday." Strong: "Of course. Which part do you want to walk her through, and can we get her on a twenty-minute call Thursday?" The weak version concedes the room. The strong version stays in it with a question and a date attached. Say your strong versions out loud until they, and not the weak ones, are the reflex.
- Asking for the commitment: Plenty of applicants run a strong call and then trail off without ever asking. Learn one clean transition from presentation to decision, use it every time, then stay quiet and let them answer. In the roleplay the interviewer is waiting to see whether you ask at all. Practice the silence; it is harder than the words.
- Follow-up pipeline discipline: Most deals do not close on the first call, and closers who work their fence-sitters out-earn the ones who chase only fresh leads. Build a follow-up rhythm where every contact carries a reason, not a check-in. When employers ask about your process, describe the cadence, the number of touches, and the CRM you ran it in.
- Calling your own close dates: You will be expected to keep stage, expected value, and close date accurate on every open deal, because your employer forecasts revenue from your numbers. Sandbagging and wishful pipelines both get noticed fast. Say which CRM you have run a pipeline in (HubSpot, Salesforce, Close, Pipedrive) and how often you clean it out.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a sales closer job with no experience?
Closing is rarely a first remote job, and the honest advice is to build a record first. With no experience, start as an appointment setter or sales representative, keep your own numbers from day one, and move across in six to twelve months. Offline sales history in insurance, real estate, or high-ticket retail transfers well; lead with your close rate and average ticket size.
Are part-time or night-shift sales closer jobs available?
Calls are booked around the buyer, so your hours follow the client market and US accounts mean a night shift in the Philippines. Part-time closing roles do exist, usually six to ten calls a day inside a set block, since long discovery calls are draining and quality falls off past that. Confirm the expected calls per day before you accept.
How do I get paid?
Directly by your employer in USD, typically via Wise, PayPal, or direct deposit, and commission arrives the same way. FindTalent never takes a cut of your pay.
What equipment do I need?
A reliable computer, a decent webcam, a noise-canceling headset, and at least 10 Mbps with a backup connection and backup power. Closing calls are usually on video, so lighting and a plain background count as part of the setup. Employers provide the CRM, the VoIP line, the scheduler, and often a call recording tool used for coaching.
How fast can I start?
Profile review takes 1–2 days. Closing roles screen harder than most: expect an intro call, a product brief, then a full roleplay, and sometimes a paid trial week on live calls. Two to three weeks from application to offer is typical. Numbers you can state plainly, close rate and average deal size, shorten the process noticeably.
How does commission work for closers?
Most closing roles pair a base rate with a percentage of closed revenue, and the percentage varies enough by price point and industry that any figure you read online is only a starting point. The trigger matters more than the rate. Ask whether you are paid when the contract is signed, when the invoice is issued, or when the money actually lands, and what happens on a refund, a chargeback, or a client who cancels in month two, because clawback clauses are common and almost never volunteered. On multi-month contracts, ask whether commission pays up front or drips with the payments. Commission-only offers are common in closing and deserve real caution: with no base you carry all the risk, and if the leads are cold or the offer does not convert you can work full weeks for nothing. Ask how many closers are on the team now and what the bottom half earned last month. An employer who will not give you numbers has answered the question.
What happens if my close rate drops?
Ask about lead source and show rate before you sign, because a closer working unqualified leads looks bad through no fault of their own. If your rate falls, review three or four lost recordings before assuming it is you: shallow discovery, a weak offer, and poor lead quality all look identical on a scoreboard. Bring the recordings to your manager with a diagnosis.
